Each area covered by the ITV Local network of sites will now include traffic camera footage, updated every few minutes, specific to that region, a press release from the company said.
Interactive maps displaying roadworks, traffic congestion and speed restrictions in real time for each region's site have also been launched, in addition to live news feeds for rail, air and sea travel updates.
For London travellers, live updates of service on the London Underground, provided by Transport for London , are also available as part of the new news service, which was piloted in the capital last year.
"Travel stories have always been one of the staples of ITV1's regional news programmes. Launching travel news online gives ITV a really comprehensive service that can deliver trusted traffic and travel news whenever people need it and at a really local level," said Lindsay Charlton, ITV Local's director of programming and content.
