The Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday are leading the shortlist for this year's British Sports Journalism Awards, with 13 nominations between them.
The awards, organised by the Sports Journalists' Association, recognise the best in UK sports reporting, interviewing, feature-writing, broadcasting and photography.
The Mail will go up against the Times, Guardian and Telegraph for the title of sports newspaper of the year.
Getty Images scores highly in the photography categories, with 11 nominations. Former England cricket captain Michael Atherton picked up three nominations for his work at the Times and Sky: sports broadcaster of the year, sports columnist and specialist correspondent.
