Martin Dickson announced as FT deputy editorMartin Dickson has been appointed deputy editor of the Financial Times.

He has more than 20 years' experience in financial journalism and joined the FT in 1977 as a reporter on African and diplomatic affairs.

He has also worked as financial editor for the FT and is currently city editor of the paper's Lombard column.

Mr Dickson studied history at Trinity College, Cambridge, and economics at London University. He then started work at Reuters as a graduate trainee.
