Asiana and Asiana Weddings magazines have appointed Momtaz Begum-Hossain as a feature writer.

Begum-Hossain's new role involves covering a wide range of topics, including travel, fashion, celebrity, health and careers.

Prior to taking this position she was working on a freelance basis, specialising in arts and crafts.

Her interest in journalism began at school, where she set up two magazines. She was fashion editor of the University of Sussex student magazine Pulse and contributed to student newspaper the Badger. After graduating from the Harlow College Magazine Journalism course and working as a junior writer for BBC Children's Magazines, she was made assistant editor and then editor of Popular Crafts magazine.

Her advice to those wanting to pursue a similar career is: "Develop as a varied a portfolio as you can, it will give you a chance to practise different writing styles proving you can turn your hand to anything."
