Following the appointment of Will Bosworth as the editor of the Ringing World, the Ringing World Board now invites applications for the post of assistant editor.
As well as publishing The Ringing World on a weekly basis, the team produces several other items of interest to the Bellringing community. It’s a small team working in a flexible environment based in Andover, though much of the work is done remotely.
The assistant editor will report to the editor and their duties will include:
- Writing original articles or working with other contributors to create high quality content to reflect the interests of the Bellringing community.
- Sub-editing and short-form writing.
- Contributing to design and branding of publications.
- Working with other team members to meet peaks and troughs in workload in a small company.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in publications or news journalism, including the use of software tools in the production process. They will be capable of taking the initiative and leading on the development of new projects which may include merchandise and other publications including online publications. Flexibility in the approach to work is essential in a small team and to fit into a rapidly changing environment.
The position is part-time, equivalent of three days a week.
