We are looking for a new chief reporter on The Shuttle.

The right candidate will be a senior journalist, ready for the new challenge of taking of the responsibility for a successful weekly title both in print and online.

As chief reporter for The Shuttle, which covers Kidderminster and the Wyre Forest district of Worcestershire, you will decide on its content, organise the diary and build positive relationships within the local community.

This is a great job for someone who thrives on covering their own patch - from holding those in authority to account to spotting potential human interest stories on Facebook.

The role involves covering a very varied news agenda from court and council stories to viral videos and responding to breaking news or Google trends.

The ability to build strong contacts and get out and about on patch is vital.

The successful candidate will be part of our very talented editorial team based in Stourbridge, but will have the initiative to work alone and will be confident working both in print and digital formats.

Digital skills are vital from engaging in social media to incorporating video and to understanding how to find a potential story on social media and how to sell their stories to a rapidly growing digital audience.

This role will involve working some evenings and weekends (on a rota basis).

A driving licence is preferable.
