IOM3 is a leading membership organisation for the Materials, Minerals and Mining communities in the UK and abroad. The magazine group based in central London produces technical magazines that cover the interests of our approx. 18,000 members.

Reporting to the Magazine Group Editor, the Commissioning Editor will fulfil a key role in the editorial team by organising and producing the features sections and Spotlight for Materials World and Clay Technology. Other important roles include representing the publications at events, to raise their profile and build relationships, and supporting the Magazine Group Editor.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a positive attitude. They will have strong editorial skills, the ability to sense a good story, experience of commissioning articles, with excellent organisational skills and be adept at cultivating contacts and establishing links with contributors and organisations.
They should have a professional approach to chasing contributors for copy and re-writes. It’s essential that they are comfortable working with scientific or technical content.
