Life Risk News, a London, UK-based digital magazine covering the intersection of longevity risk, mortality risk, and capital markets, seeks a freelance contributing editor for an ongoing assignment.

The job

Life Risk News is looking for a freelance journalist to produce one or two feature articles – approximately 800 - 1,000 words – each month. These articles will require you, the author, to interview a minimum of two industry experts for each article, who may be based abroad; the articles you produce will need to be written in a style consistent with Life Risk News’ style guide.

Life Risk News requires contributing editors to be available for editorial planning calls. Additionally, on occasion, Life Risk News contributing editors are required to come into London to attend meetings and / or industry conferences. The frequency of this will be less than once per month, and travel costs will be reimbursed.

The candidate

  • Five years’ experience in journalism, preferably, in trade press (preferred, not required)
  • Own personal or laptop computer
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Capacity to work with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated, disciplined approach to work
  • Degree in Creative Writing, Journalism, Communication Studies, English, or adjacent/relevant field
  • Based in the Southeast of England

Remuneration

Life Risk News requires contributing editors to charge a flat fee per article, which would be discussed at interview. Contributing editors are remunerated for travel costs where necessary.
