We are looking for an experienced journalist and editor to join GC magazine and Legalease. The role will focus on working with the in-house legal community globally on business and management focused features. Legal experience is not essential, but proven experience on a magazine or regular business publication is.

GC is a quarterly magazine aimed at in-house lawyers around the world. Rather than focusing on technical legal issues, we focus on business and management for inside counsel. Our mandate includes contemporary legal issues, current affairs - both in business and politics - and thought leadership pieces topical to the in-house legal community. We have a large and diverse global readership in both print and online, which is expanding.

The successful candidate would need to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree - ideally in journalism, business or law - and proven experience in journalism. They would need to be focused, driven and have an international outlook. Familiarity and a passion for current affairs and news is essential.

The role will be based on Fleet Street in central London, but will include international travel. We offer a competitive salary - dependent on experience - and an attractive working environment.

Day-to-day duties will include:

Writing features (including research, sourcing and conducting interviews)

Editing features (copy-editing, fact-check and sub-editing)

Planning and producing content for regular newsletters

Proofreading for both print and online

Writing content for special reports and thought leadership pieces

Attending professional events and conferences - both as a host and an attendee - in the UK and abroad.
