Aceville Publications are looking for several Deputy Editors to join our busy, commercial and creative food, craft and lifestyle editorial departments.
The ideal candidate will be posted on one of our fantastic consumer or trade titles. You will be highly organised, driven and knowledgeable about either food, lifestyle or crafting.
If you are educated to degree level, have a penchant for writing well researched, engaging features for our target readership, and a head full of relevant editorial ideas, then you could be just what we’re looking for.
With a keen eye for detail, an excellent grasp of grammar, flair for writing and an ability to create content that will excite and entertain our readers and followers, you’ll also be competent at setting and fulfilling a brief and hitting multiple deadlines throughout the month.
You will need to be as at home nailing interviews and forging strong links with key personalities as you are directing a beautiful in-house photography shoot, selecting great images and liaising with our in-house design team on a page layout.
A positive, can-do attitude will aid you in supporting the Editor in all aspects of production, from commissioning and briefing contributors to supporting advertising and promotions departments with commercial ideas. All the while you have the target reader firmly in the forefront of your mind.
A whizz on social media, you’ll know just the right hook to appeal to our followers and you will be as comfortable writing an engaging blog post for online and social media as you are researching and writing a five-page special (with a strong angle and fresh twist) for the print publication.
You may also be required to provide a backbone of support to annual awards, which includes setting up a panel of prestigious and influential judges and organising the various stages of judging.
If writing engaging copy and making a mark on a national publication sounds like a challenge you’re equipped for, we want to hear from you.
