SCI is a unique multidisciplinary society focused on translating innovation into benefit for society, connecting a global network of scientists, entrepreneurs, industrial professionals, and related professions.

We are recruiting for a full-time digital editor to lead the development of SCI’s growing digital media presence.

Based at SCI’s central London headquarters, the digital editor will lead a growing digital media team, managing a small team of editorial professionals. The digital editor will be an experienced, strategically-minded senior editorial professional, and an expert in digital platforms. The digital editor must have an interest in science and technology, and relevant experience working for an organisation in this space is highly advantageous.

The digital editor will provide editorial and strategic oversight on all aspects of SCI’s digital media activities, with overall responsibility for the production of high-quality media, as well as the creation and implementation of short-, mid-, and long-term strategic plans to maximise the impact of SCI’s media output.

Digital media is central to SCI’s main objective – to be the place where science meets business. Through the production of original, impactful web articles, blogs, podcast and video content, and effective development and use of Twitter and Facebook, the digital editor is responsible for the representation of SCI to a global audience.

This is an exciting, wide-ranging, challenging role that is suited to someone who thrives upon working in a fast-paced environment, producing content of the highest quality, and bringing new ideas to an organisation.

You must be a natural communicator, with excellent written and spoken English, and have a pro-active, positive approach to work.

We are staffed by a small team of enthusiastic and hardworking professionals, with all departments working closely together on multiple projects at any given time, so it is essential that the digital editor is a team player and highly adaptable.

If this sounds like you, please send a CV and covering letter outlining your suitability and interest in the role to April Roberts at april.roberts@soci.org by Sunday 2nd December.
