EDITOR OF BRITISH JOURNAL OF NEUROSCIENCE NURSING
AND SUB EDITOR ROLE, JOURNAL OF WOUND CARE
MA Healthcare, publishers of nursing and healthcare journals, is seeking to recruit an editor for th British Journal of Neuroscience Nursing, together with a sub-editing role for the leading monthly Journal of Wound Care. This presents an outstanding opportunity to join a leading independent healthcare publisher.
Working closely with the Editorial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall editorial process of the British Journal of Neuroscience Nursing and the journal’s associated projects achieving high quality content. The role requires you to be multi-skilled with the ability to sub-edit, preferably clinical and professional articles, to commission articles and manage the peer review process, working closely with the editorial board of the journal, and to lay out pages.
Journal of Wound Care is a clinical research title for tissue viability practitioners and has a multidisciplinary readership comprising researchers, scientists, surgeons, doctors, tissue viability nurses and podiatrists. The journal has been awarded an impact factor.
Main responsibilities for this role includes:
o Accurate sub-editing of articles to high standards
o Effective peer review of content
o Writing headlines, captions and editorial
o High standard of proofreading
o Laying out of pages – knowledge of InDesign is desirable but not essential
o Attending relevant conferences and events as required
Excellent grammar, attention to detail and accuracy, with strong communication skills and ability to work to strict deadlines and under pressure are a prerequisite. The successful candidate will be of graduate level preferably with a degree in sciences, or equivalent.
