Duties and Responsibilities
This position offers a unique opportunity for a media graduate or a newly qualified journalist to further their career within a successful, dynamic media company. As Editorial Assistant / Junior Journalist you will play a key role in the editorial team, assisting with both the printed publication and the online platforms. Knowledge or interest in the entertainment technology sector or live music production industry is preferable but not essential; however, you will have the strength and ability to adapt quickly to the subject matter in hand.
You will be responsible for sub-editing press releases for use online and in print, so excellent spelling and punctuation skills are essential. You will also maintain the magazine’s social networking presence. Therefore, knowledge of both content management systems and social media management would be a strong advantage. Once comfortable with the subject matter, you will be encouraged to utilise your writing skills to contribute to both platforms.
The position will involve working on the magazine production as a whole, including contributing to layout design. A working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign would be an advantage, although it is not essential. Experience of photography would also be favourable.
Throughout the month, and particularly when deadlines are approaching, you will use your initiative and be a consistent support. You will work as part of a very close-knit team, liaising with the magazine’s advertising and sponsorship staff and Mondiale’s in-house production department.

The Ideal Candidate
Educated to degree level or above in Journalism, Media Studies or English, the successful candidate will be hard working, self-motivated and willing to work flexibly in order to maintain the high standards established at these fast-paced trade magazines. The ideal candidate will have carried out multiple internships in the journalism field during their degree or will have been working in a professional environment for at least 12 months.
You will be highly organised, punctual, enthusiastic and excited at the prospect of joining a well-established title. Applicants should be confident to work as an individual, bringing innovative ideas and journalistic flare to the role, as well as a strong desire to work in and learn about the entertainment technology sector or live music production industry. The fundamental ability to work as a team player is also vital.\

The closing date for this position is 14 July 2017.
