Job Description

Job title: Editorial intern mondo*dr magazine and MONDO | STADIA

Reporting to: Rachael Rogerson-Thorley

Period: Three-month position - part-time basis (three days)

Salary: Travel expenses and a £5 lunch allowance covered

Location: Strawberry Studios, Stockport

Duties and Responsibilities

As an editorial intern you will play a key role in maintaining and helping to grow the online side of the business for mondo*dr magazine and MONDO | STADIA.

Mentored by the editorial team, you will gain first hand experience of how a business to business editorial department works while learning essential skills in editing and proofing content for online use; picture sourcing and editing; research skills and online content management. While your main duties will lie with the online side of the business, you may also be required to assist the editors on the printed magazines from time to time.

There will also be a strong focus on social media and you will be expected to fully engage in, and promote this area for the magazines and their associated events.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about a career in journalism; organised, on time and willing to work hard. Creativity is welcomed at Mondiale Publishing and we encourage interns to ask questions, suggest ideas and use their initiative. It is essential that you are able to work as part of a team and you are willing to learn from those around you. Essentially, at Mondiale you will get out, what you put in and while a permanent paid position is not guaranteed at the end of the placement should you prove yourself, you will be a first consideration should a suitable position become available in the future.

As part of the editorial department, you will learn essential skills in editing PR and in-house content; proof reading; sub-editing; basic InDesign and PhotoShop skills; online content management systems; researching, transcription techniques and social media brand interaction.
