A fantastic opportunity has arisen at HotSpot Media for a creative, organised and experienced features writer to take on the role of sourcing, pitching and writing compelling features for national women’s magazines and newspapers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and written skills, plus the ability to think clearly in difficult situations.

A competitive edge and NCTJ qualifications are also essential, while a story portfolio and relevant work experience is preferred. The right applicant will have the ability to talk confidently to people from all walks of life and be able to deal with sensitive subject matter.

The role requires someone who can use their experience and expertise to produce high quality copy - often to tight deadlines.

The right applicant should also be able to source exciting and original stories that can be pitched to and placed in the UK and international press.

Candidates should be regular readers of the UK’s tabloids and know their Take a Break from their Closer.

In return, you’ll be offered a competitive salary dependent on experience – as well as a place within a friendly and dedicated team, based in Birmingham.
