Packaging europe is looking for a group editor who will help us bring world-class content across print, digital and live media to a growing audience. This is an exciting time for Packaging Europe – the market-leading media title on the packaging industry. We are expanding, innovating and launching new brands, and our new group editor will play a pivotal role in shaping the continuing development of our content strategy.

For this role we’re seeking an outstanding writer and editor who engages authoritatively and inquisitively with their content. They need to possess knowledge on packaging technology and the trends driving innovation – or convince us they can quickly assimilate the expertise required to produce industry-leading content.

The group editor will join our dynamic, creative and friendly team in Norwich, reporting to the head of content and working closely with the whole content team. Training may be provided to develop skills. The role sometimes involves national and international travel for international conferences, fairs and other editorial trips.

Overview of responsibilities

The group editor will be responsible for creating, and supporting the content team in the production of, engaging and authoritative content for Packaging Europe’s brands. They will be required to maintain a strong grasp of the trends and drivers in packaging technology and to maintain a network of key industry stakeholders for fact-checking and opinion gathering.

The group editor is responsible for day-to-day management of print and digital output and ensuring deadlines and production schedules are adhered to. They will also work with the head of content in shaping the content strategy. The group editor will tend to devote content creation time to higher-level, long form and technical content. They will also assist other members of the content team in their work, and will be expected to deputise for the head of content when they are unavailable.
