Zoopla is looking to recruit a head of content who can lead the rejuvenation of all content across Zoopla. This role is a rare opportunity to define and implement a new content strategy for one of the UK’s largest companies as it enters an exciting new era of private ownership. Zoopla’s mission is to be the first place that people visit when they want to make smarter property decisions - and guides, news, data journalism, videos, social media, SEO, content design, and PR are a huge part of realising that vision.

Key responsibilities

  • Ownership of the strategy, tactical execution, updating, and promotion of all content across the Zoopla portfolio of digital properties
  • Managing and setting the strategic priorities for a team of content writers, data journalists, social media executives, and digital PR managers
  • Collaboration with stakeholders from SEO, Product, CRM, and Brand to ensure that all content across every part of Zoopla forwards the company’s vision

Essential skills required

  • Strong experience with managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong knowledge of the UK property market
  • Strong experience with planning, writing, editing, commissioning, updating, and promoting a variety of content types (guides, news, long-form reports, tweets, infographics, emails, videos, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of CMSes and related tools and platforms
  • Strong experience with analytics (GA, Omniture, etc.) and reporting (slides, dashboards, presenting to stakeholders, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of organic and paid social media best practices
  • Good experience with managing freelancers
  • Good experience with CRM and email marketing
  • Exposure to data journalism, data visualisation, data analysis, or related areas
  • Exposure to journalistic principles
  • Exposure to outreach content and linkbuilding to improve domain authority
  • Exposure to content design
  • Exposure to pitching and creating commercial content
  • Exposure to public relations - pitching, relationship building, newsjacking, etc.
