POLITICO Europe is looking for an experienced editor to join our health care team and lead a group of journalists covering the coronavirus pandemic and beyond. The post is a busy, hands-on editing job overseeing POLITICO's subscription Pro Health Care service and working with reporters across the newsroom to bring stories on the policy and politics of health care to life.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in EU policymaking, sharp editing skills and proven leadership abilities. At a crucial time in health care journalism, we are looking for a highly motivated person to head an ambitious group of reporters breaking news on topics from the latest vaccine developments through to EU pharmaceutical regulation and digital health.
Nurturing less-experienced reporters and motivating seasoned journalists is part of the gig, as is thinking big about coverage and finding new ways to drive the public conversation. The job, centred in Brussels, will involve close co-ordination with reporters in London, Paris, Berlin and other European centers, as well as the US.
- Experienced editor (7+ years' newsroom experience);
- knowledge of European politics and policy;
- strong English-language writing and editing skills;
- ability to work under pressure and on deadline;
- leadership skills;
- knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
It is POLITICO's policy to provide equal employment opportunity to all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age or any other characteristic protected by local laws and regulations.
