As a journalist you will be in a tight-knit editorial team (four members including you), working on a range of intellectual property law titles. You will write daily news and features predominantly for our life sciences law publication, but daily assistance on our flagship IP title will also be required.

You will need to be an excellent writer, have a minimum of two years’ experience working as a journalist, and be able to understand complex subject matter quickly. In addition, strong time-management and multi-tasking skills are important, as you will need to help with uploading content to the websites, building newsletters, and researching and liaising with contributors.


The role would suit a journalist with two years’ experience or more, though we may also consider exceptional candidates with less experience. A scientific background is a bonus but not a requirement.

  • Have strong research skills;
  • Be a good communicator;
  • Be able to manage several tasks concurrently; and
  • Work well in a small team.


Salary between £17,000 and £24,000, depending on experience.

The company

Newton Media publishes business-to-business magazines in the legal, finance and insurance industries. The company’s offices are in Bromley, which is approximately 20 minutes from central London with regular rail services from London Victoria.
