As a journalist you will be in a tight-knit editorial team (four members including you), working on a range of intellectual property law titles; you will write daily news and features for our publications. You will need to be an excellent writer, ideally have experience working as a journalist, and be able to understand complex subject matter quickly. In addition, strong time-management and multi-tasking skills are important, as you will need to help with uploading content to the websites, building newsletters, researching, and liaising and following up with contributors.

Competencies

The role would suit a recent graduate or someone with up to two years’ experience in journalism. B2B experience is a big plus. 

The successful applicant will:

  • Be an excellent writer; 
  • Have proven ability working as a journalist; 
  • Be willing to tackle new topics and learn quickly;
  • Have strong research skills;
  • Be a good communicator; 
  • Be able to manage several tasks concurrently; and
  • Work well in a small team. 

Salary

Salary of up to £23,000, dependent on experience. 

The company

Newton Media publishes business-to-business magazines in the legal, finance and insurance industries. The company’s offices are in Bromley, which is approximately 20 minutes from central London with regular rail services from London Victoria.
