Who We Are
Triangle News is a London-based national news agency providing agenda-setting stories to some of Britain’s largest media outlets. If you read a newspaper, a magazine, surf the web or share news online, chances are you have seen one of our articles. We believe content should be entertaining, informative, shareable and targeted to the modern, mobile-centric consumer.
Triangle News is a newly formed, independent news agency and we are committed to making an impact on the world of journalism. You will be joining a small but ambitious team with the potential to advance quickly and gain highly sought after experience.
The job will require a high level of autonomy and you will be expected to work across all fields, from news and features, writing for national newspapers and women's magazines. You will be expected to independently provide content, fully researched and of the highest quality, on a daily basis. The successful applicant will also contribute to daily editorial meetings, offering up appropriate story ideas. You could be covering a major breaking news story one day, writing a weight-loss feature or interviewing a celebrity the next, then attending court the day after. On the job training will be provided and you will be working closely with our news editor who has worked on many of the national news desks and magazines. The job will be a perfect introduction to the world of journalism and give you the foundation to progress onto any national title.
There is huge potential to progress within the business and an aptitude and interest in a particular area of journalism would be encouraged and rewarded. Performance will be judged against monthly targets. Some travel may be required as you will attend press events and go searching for exclusive content.
This role is perfect for a recent journalism graduate or someone who has been working on local newspapers and who is now looking for a national newspaper challenge.
We are looking for a junior reporter who can match our ambition and who is hungry to be a part of a ground breaking new independent agency. You will be reporting directly to the owners of the business so the opportunity to train and progress on the job will be significant.
It is essential that you have good news sense, can spot a story a mile off, are comfortable using social media and are friendly, approachable and hard-working.
You must have a NCTJ journalism qualification or equivalent. Shorthand is preferred but not essential as we can provide training. A full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle would be preferable although not essential and you must also have a working knowledge and adhere to the IPSO Code at all times.
Competitive and DoE.
