Do you have a passion for agriculture and in particular the livestock sector? Would attending livestock markets, agricultural shows, technical meetings or press launches and digging deep into the latest developments be your kind of day?

Briefing Media Agriculture is looking for a livestock specialist to join its editorial team based in our Preston, Lancashire HQ.

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating much of the content for the popular sales section of Farmers Guardian and our website www.fginsight.com, and will be heavily involved in our unrivalled coverage of summer livestock shows.

There will also be the opportunity to delve deeper into technical topics, and get out onto farms to interview farmers about how they’ve improved their business.

Previous journalistic experience isn't essential; we are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated team players with a deep-rooted interest in the livestock sector.

You'll need an aptitude for writing and getting the story over in print and online, and you will need to be flexible in terms of your working day/week, as well as being prepared to travel. You will also need a full driving licence. The position is ideally suited to someone seeking their first job in agricultural journalism.

The positions offer a competitive salary and excellent package, including 25 days holiday, contributory pension plan, free life assurance and childcare voucher scheme.

To apply, please send your CV and covering letter, along with any examples of your work, to the Head of Livestock – katie.jones@briefingmedia.com
