Argus is an independent media organisation with almost 1,100 staff globally. We are headquartered in London and have 26 offices in the world's principal commodity trading and production centres. Argus produces price assessments and analysis of international energy and other commodity markets and offers bespoke consulting services and industry-leading conferences.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a passionate and resourceful editor to join our Argus fertilisers international team in central London. The successful candidate will work closely with the group editor and reporters assigned to the potash report to develop existing and new pricing and news products in the potash fertiliser market space.

The job is a challenging mix of: reporting on market movements, assessing prices, analysing data, producing expert analysis and writing breaking news. Editors are also expected to 'front' their publication, providing market insight through webinars, speaking to the media, chairing Argus conference events and giving market presentations at Argus and other fertiliser conference around the world.

Beyond the ability to write, you will act as ambassador for the potash weekly publication, able to communicate with contacts on an equal footing, express the Argus market outlook with authority and clarity. You will have excellent communication and diplomacy skills and not be afraid to handle complaints over price assessments. You will follow methodology rigorously.

What we are looking for in you:

  • A graduate with a strong degree
  • Ability to develop, source and write news to deadline and excellent written, grammatical and numeracy skills
  • Ability to analyse data and write engaging content
  • Strong software skills, notably Excel, and ability to learn new software
  • Strong co-ordination and time management skills with the ability to work well within a team
  • Prior experience of working in the financial, energy, or journalism sector is useful but not essential
