Your chance to lead communications at the union for Britain’s health and care managers
Managers in Partnership (MiP) provides personal employment support and a public voice to more than 6,000 health and care managers throughout the UK. We are a unique collaboration between the FDA and UNISON trade unions, launched in 2005.
Our members are dedicated public servants, crucial to providing and improving health and care services. Sadly, both sides of the political divide denigrate managers – to the detriment of patients and the NHS. As our Communications Officer you will help to champion our members in the public debate, and keep them well informed about our campaigning and representative work on their behalf.
The MiP team is small, friendly and expert; we pride ourselves on punching above our weight. You will be our comms lead, working directly with our Chief Executive and in daily control of communications with members and the media. You will develop the format and impact of our digital communications, and support our National Officers and Activists with local and regional communications. You will produce press releases, respond to media enquiries and build relationships with journalists. You will oversee our social media presence and the development and use of our brand new website, which we’re launching soon.
What we are looking for
You will be a quick learner with excellent writing and editing skills, who is able to work to tight deadlines. You will have track record of working with both specialist and mainstream media, and will have experience of overseeing and developing digital media.
