The New Statesman is recruiting a news editor to report on technology and government for its business-to-business website, NS Tech.

This new role will coincide with a major refresh of the NS Tech website and is suited to a fairly experienced technology news journalist with an interest in politics. You will be expected to break original news stories through your contacts with technology companies, report on government tech policy and provide insight on the future of this fascinating area in both the public and private sectors.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Writing regular news articles on areas including cyber security, networks, fintech, machine learning, big data, hardware, policy, funding, technology law and emerging technologies.

  • Compiling newsletters

  • Maintaining and building social media accounts

  • Participating in and representing the NS Tech brand at events

So, if you’re a reporter or a staff writer looking to take on an exciting new project and you know your GPRS from your GDPR, please apply with a CV and a short covering letter.

Please note this is a B2B role that involves reporting exclusively for NS Tech and not the New Statesman website or magazine.
