Job Summary:

We are looking for news editor to join a fast-paced news desk for CBRonline.com, a B2B technology publication that provides news, features and analysis for UK tech leaders.

You’ll be joining a small but growing – and ambitious – new team. We’re keen to break exclusives, ramp up our off-diary reporting and publish stories that have rivals chasing.

It’s an exciting time to be covering this sector: tech is evolving fast and its business and consumer applications are dizzying. From retail to medicine, sports to the space sector, the technologies we report on are transforming multiple markets.

With opportunities to interview the biggest CEOs in the industry and to travel internationally, you will be expected to deliver engaging news, features and analysis tailored to our B2B audience, manage a forward-features diary and help train a team of junior reporters.

Key Skills:

You are a senior reporter with a minimum of two years’ newsroom experience covering technology and/or business. (If the latter, a demonstrable interest in tech is essential).

Experience editing copy from junior reporters and handling multiple social media accounts responsibly is also essential.

Self-motivated: the ability to work independently within a fast paced, deadline-driven environment is crucial, as are strong SEO skills.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A strong portfolio of stories and an excellent understanding of the tech sector
  • Minimum of two years’ experience and the contacts book to show for it
  • Excellent English skills and an inquisitive mind
  • NCTJ or other journalistic qualification preferred
  • Strong editing skills
  • Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
  • Enthusiasm – is there a better job than journalism? We don’t think so. Bring a love of the game, a passion for exclusives and a feel for a business audience.
