We’re looking for a reporter to take responsibility for all our global news coverage in this dynamic market and to continue to build its excellent reputation.
Our dream candidate will be a powerful all-rounder, able to cover news, interviews and analysis. You’ll be a prolific writer a great networker, able to build strong relationships with industry experts to ensure a stream of compelling original news stories.
We’re the only media business writing daily news for the global health and fitness sector and this gives us a unique vantage point when it comes to breaking stories.
We’re ‘makers’ and are committed to turning out products of the highest quality, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that everything we put our name to is proofed to the very highest standards to ensure it's a pleasure to read.
Your visual skills will be important when it comes to sourcing photography, photo editing and compelling caption writing, and a knowledge of reader engagement will be important.
Health Club Management publishes in every channel and part of your role will be writing some of our social media copy, meaning the ability to turn out a snappy tweet or an effective Facebook headline will also be important.
We’ve branched out into video too and will be putting you in front of the camera, so if you have experience in these areas, we’d be interested to hear about it in your application.
As Health Club Management has grown, so has our reach, and from a base in the UK market, the magazine is now read by professionals in over 7,500 cities around the world. To support our global readership, we publish regular international content and our dream candidate will be able to build on this work, by having strong language skills, a global sensibility and practical knowledge of how to engage with readers from different cultures.
You’ll travel globally in your role, so a love of travel and the ability to get about under your own steam (and enjoy it) will be essential.
Health Club Management is a team effort and you’ll be responsible for working alongside our deputy editor, product editors, freelance journalists, sub editor and design team.
Leisure Media publishes a range of titles in the health and wellness market, including Spa Business, Spa Opportunities, Sports Management, CLADmag, Leisure Management and Leisure Opportunities, so you’ll also teamwork with the editors and writers on those titles to optimise coverage across the sectors, as there are many synergies.
As a member of our team, you’ll be a noted industry expert and your coverage will give you a platform to analyse trends, policy and issues relating to the industry we serve. This means you need to be able to demonstrate your ability to understand and analyse critical issues.
This role will give you the opportunity to represent Health Club Management and Leisure Media at industry events as a speaker, conference chair and commentator, so skills and confidence in this area would be a definite advantage.
Some of our content is technical, so you need an understanding of exercise science and the ability to analyse and comment on research findings.
