Regulatory news reporter

Leading global regulatory news service Chemical Watch is looking for a journalist with proven off-diary news skills and a strong interest in reporting on policy and regulatory developments, to join our 20-strong global editorial team.

The role

Working with our transport editor, the successful candidate will be responsible for reporting on the key policy and regulatory developments governing the transport and storage of dangerous goods across the globe.

The reporter will be expected to plug into the hazardous cargo and transport safety scene, and establish excellent contacts in key global organisations including national and international regulatory authorities and leading businesses transporting or receiving goods by sea, land, or air.

While the successful candidate's primary task will be to make a substantial contribution to our transport safety desk news coverage, he or she will also be expected to write occasional features and contribute to Chemical Watch news podcasts.

The work also involves attending press conferences and Chemical Watch and third party events - online or, when possible, in person.

The candidate

We are looking for an ambitious journalist with proven off-diary news reporting skills.

The successful candidate should also have excellent English language writing skills, be a natural networker, and have the drive to develop an understanding of the chemicals regulatory agenda, with particular reference to transportation.

Experience of reporting on a relevant field such as environmental regulation or transport would be an advantage, as would skills in languages other than English.

The company

The Chemical Watch brand provides businesses worldwide with the information they need to safely manage chemicals in products, reporting impartially on the actions and opinions of all stakeholders in our community. Owned by environmental, health and safety information services company Enhesa, Chemical Watch continues to enjoy strong global year-on-year growth.
