Global regulatory news service Chemical Watch is looking for an ambitious news journalist with a strong interest in reporting on policy and regulatory developments, to join our 21-strong editorial team.

The role can be completely remote.

Chemical Watch reports on the steps being taken by governments, businesses, and NGOs around the world to improve the safe management of chemicals - a goal vital to human health and the environment.

Reporting to our UK-based Asia desk editor, the successful candidate will be part of a team of three full time reporters covering regulatory developments across key jurisdictions in Asia.

Experience of reporting on a relevant field such as environmental regulation, policy development, public health, or the chemical industry would be an advantage.

Proven experience of breaking off-diary news stories in a professional newsroom environment is essential, as is the confidence to establish excellent contacts in the regulatory authorities, industry bodies and NGOs concerned with the safe management of chemicals in the region.

The successful candidate must have excellent English language writing skills and the drive to develop an understanding of the regulatory agenda.

While the primary task will be to research and write news stories, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to write longer feature articles, contribute to podcasts, and attend key industry events.
