Leading hedge fund intelligence service HFM Global is looking to hire a talented and enthusiastic reporter to cover regulation for our flagship weekly title and associated brands.

Based in our London offices and working as part of our 12-strong team of award-winning journalists, the successful candidate will be responsible for our coverage of European regulation at a time when new rules such as Mifid II and GDPR are set to have a huge impact on the sector.

Covering the ongoing Brexit negotiations and discovering what the final details will mean for UK and European managers, as well as US managers marketing into the region, this will be a busy role suited to someone with good knowledge of the current political and regulatory backdrop.

Although the role will primarily be covering Europe from our London office, the candidate will also be expected to get to grips with the global impact of various SEC rules, the progress of global tax initiatives and an array of new marketing rules coming out of different geographical regions.

We are looking for a bright and confident journalist with experience of regularly breaking off-diary stories, writing insightful analysis pieces and building up and cultivating a large contact book of helpful sources.

Applicants should have at least two years of journalism experience, preferably with business or finance publications, and a keen interest in regulation.

They should display both the hunger and drive required to be successful in this role and the ability to function well as part of a close-knit team of reporters working across our London, New York and Hong Kong offices.

A CV and cover letter should be sent to HFM Global head of editorial content Paul McMillan p.mcmillan@hfweek.com
