The Wiltshire Times and Gazette & Herald are looking for an enthusiastic and talented reporter to join its close-knit team.

Our weekly titles are making great strides into becoming streamlined daily digital-first publications and we need fresh energy to keep up our momentum.

There is much room for a creative reporter with initiative to make this role their own.

The right candidate will be someone who lives and breathes digital, understands the needs and pressures of a fast-moving modern news environment, and can spot trends and react to them fast.

You will be at home running a live blog, turning around a breaking news story in moments, and getting your stories in front of readers across social media platforms.

But the varied role also wants someone who can get under the skin of the community they are serving to dig out the exclusives and identity-building features we are looking for.

Wiltshire is a beautiful and mostly rural county - but do not be fooled, lots of news happens here, from political intrigues to dramatic court cases. And yes, we have the odd light-hearted story about escaped cows too.

This role is home-based in Wiltshire with Swindon office available.

If this sounds like the job for you, email your CV, a brief covering letter and a couple of links or attachments of previous work to the Wiltshire weeklies audience and content editor at elise.britten@newsquest.co.uk by 5 August.
