We have an immediate opening for a Diary team content writer and editor with experience in an office environment, proven research skills, strong communication skills (verbal and written), and a keen eye for detail to work on our Diary team. A journalism qualification, demonstrable sub-editing experience and any contacts within the arts, showbiz and media sectors would be an advantage in this role.
Reporting into our Editor, you will be part of a small team responsible for sourcing and updating exclusive upcoming industry events, liaising with PR consultancies, event organisers, agents, record labels, managers, distributors, publishers, charities and galleries. The successful candidate will be responsible for several subject areas, and will develop and source relevant content, working to targets and deadlines.
You will also support the Editor and senior team in sub-editing and tagging copy across all subject areas.
The company is fast-paced and deadline driven and candidates must possess genuine enthusiasm for the entertainment and arts sectors; a keen eye for detail and thirst for knowledge; a confident telephone manner; research experience and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team.
Familiarity with social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc), enthusiasm, the ability to write lively copy for an industry audience, and a keen interest in celebrity culture and the arts (music, TV, fashion, film, theatre etc) are essential in this role.
