Intelligent Insurer Magazine is expanding its team and is seeking experienced, dynamic and ambitious journalists to help us grow and improve our product portfolio, taking responsibility for key sectors of our content strategy.

We are seeking a talented and motivated journalist with the ambition to become a key part of a tight-knit editorial team in an independent publishing company.

The successful candidate would take responsibility for increasing and improving our news output on a daily basis through research, analysis, leveraging market contacts and conducting in-depth interviews.

They would need to be an excellent writer and have a good instinct for a story. Ideally, they would also have a good understanding of the risk-transfer landscape globally including dynamics between companies, insurers and re-insurers and the important role alternative capital and insurance-linked securities (ILS) now play in this sector.

Career progression:

Our intention is that this role will expand as the business grows, new products are launched, and new team members are recruited. Across our range of products, we need motived, self-sufficient individuals capable of developing into editors, ultimately taking responsibility for entire magazines or websites.

There will be opportunity to travel to conferences and events after a period of 6 months or so.

Competencies:

The role would suit someone with a minimum of two years’ experience in business-to-business journalism, ideally covering the risk-transfer markets globally including insurance, reinsurance and ILS.

  • The ability to chair round tables and eventually chair events;
  • Be willing to tackle new topics and learn quickly;
  • Have a track record of generating strong content;
  • Be a good communicator;

  • Show superior attention to detail and organisation;
  • Be able to manage several tasks concurrently; and
  • Work well in a small team.
