We are looking for two (Senior) Researcher/Writers to join our investigative research team and cover a range of consumer money issues - from day-to-day money matters to making the big financial decisions.

What you'll be doing

As a (Senior) Researcher/Writer you will investigate the issues that really matter to consumers from money scams and credit card rewards, or where the best place is get your travel money. One of these roles will also cover property issues, from dodgy estate agents to the best mortgage providers. You'll be expected to deliver research and content across our publications, including Which? magazine and Which? Money, as well as website content and support for our hard-hitting campaigns.

We’ll want you to use a range of investigative methods to research, and uncover, key issues facing consumers whether that’s using surveys, data analysis, speaking with experts or mystery shopping. You'll use your talent for turning your findings into clear and engaging copy across both print and online.

The quality of your investigative research and analysis will play a vital role in upholding our well-deserved reputation for fairness, thoroughness and reliability. This is primarily a desk-based role, but you will be required to use your networking skills to build external relationships with key contacts, and your varied approaches to investigative research may take you out and about to experience issues through the eyes of the consumer.

We need you to have:

  • Excellent print and online writing skills

  • Solid analytical and research skills, from carrying out a range of in-depth research to the ability to analyse research results and spot a story in data

  • Someone who is numerate and comfortable handling data in spreadsheets

  • Positivity, drive and a hawk-like eye for detail

  • Strong project and time management skills; the ability to juggle projects and meet deadlines

  • Creativity and the ability to pitch new ideas as well as writing to brief

  • Understanding of SEO, driving traffic and experience of using CMS software

We'd love it if you have:

  • Experience of working on money consumer issues (enthusiasm for investigating them is essential)

  • Data mining and visualisation skills

  • Experience of writing for a consumer audience
