Senior Researcher, Spear’s

Spear’s magazine, the leading title for the high-net worth individuals in the UK, is looking for a highly motivated journalist to join its research team in a senior role.

The successful candidate will be someone who already has experience in a research capacity and/or a demonstrated ability to write compelling editorial copy to tight deadlines. You will need to have a profound commitment to editorial integrity, a sincere passion for excellence in quality and be someone who thrives on the challenge of generating content in a fast-paced environment across multiple platforms — namely the bimonthly Spear’s magazine, our website -, and in our annual guides and in social media. You’ll also need to be a team performer and have the initiative to be able to generate great editorial ideas – and then see them through.

At the heart of each edition of Spear’s is one of our ‘power-lists’ of star performers in different fields of the elite private client world – from wealth management, to family law, property, tax and trusts, alternative assets and beyond. While it would be helpful for any applicant to have experience writing about or working directly in one of these fields, the overwhelming requirement we have is for someone with the talent and right characteristics to join the team. The right enthusiasm, passion, a curiosity for the world, and a desire to succeed are the most important things.

Spear’s, founded in 2006 by William Cash, is looking to grow its editorial output in the months and years ahead. The successful candidate, should therefore rightly hope that they will be part of that growth: growing their experience and knowledge of the elite world of the 1 per cent — covering all aspects of wealth, geopolitics, business, culture, travel and luxury lifestyle.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A post graduate degree in journalism
  • Interest or experience in wealth management, banking or law
