In its relatively short operating history IFLScience has become the leading destination for engaging and thought-provoking science content, with 90 million unique monthly visitors and 300 million page views. Spawning from a Facebook page in Spring 2012, “I F*cking Love Science” now has over 25 million Facebook likes and is a top-5 for Facebook’s Edge Rank which measures engagement and reach. IFLScience.com was founded in Midland, Ontario in Canada but has recently relocated to London UK.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Social Media Assistant who will to be responsible for one of the largest and most active pages on Facebook. This person will be pivotal for the ongoing growth of the company, and we expect this role to grow quickly within the next year. For the right candidate, it's not outside the realm of possibility for you to be managing your own team within twelve months.
The primary function of this role is to manage the daily articles posted to Facebook and create educational and fascinating posts for our various channels.
Secondary responsibilities include the implementation of new untapped social media channels such as Twitter, SnapChat, Instagram etc. to support the growth of our website.
This role would strongly suit someone with a strong social media presence of their own - do you run a science-based social media channel? We'd love to hear from you!
You need to be excited about science, and have an excellent eye for viral content. We immediately recognise what works and what doesn't.
Experience in social media management. This can be professional or personal.
Degree in science or journalism.
Passionate about science. This is a requirement for ALL our positions, but is particularly important for this one. You will be expected to eat, sleep and breathe science.
