Products include: website, app, social channels (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pintrest), job board and 30+ live events every year.   • Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy
  • Align social media strategy across the business
  • Define most important social media KPIs
  • Manage and oversee social media content, including meme, GIF creation
  • Measure the success of every social media campaign
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
  • Coach, train and mentor business as a whole
  • Work closely with the editorial team to ensure content is informative and appealing
  • Copywriting content for Social Media Channels as well as maintaining great images
  • Monitor, analyse and respond to social media reviews
  • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
  • Develop influencer network
  • Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Editorial teams
  • Provide constructive feedback
  • Assist the Editor with the day to day running of the department
  • Look for innovative ways to keep The Staff Canteen as a leader in its field

Essential skills & experience

  • 2 years minimum experience as a Social Media Manager especially in high growth environment
  • Experience using social media for brand awareness and impressions
  • Evidence of growing followers; engagement
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo, Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat and other social media best practices
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Excellent understanding of social media KPIs
  • CMS experience
  • Excellent multitasking, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think outside box to generate creative and innovative ideas
  • A proactive approach to investigating and good research skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn, take on new challenges and be proactive in pushing the company forward
  • Confident in attending live events and interacting with clients and members
  • Able to demonstrate interest in the subject and in our website
  • IT skills and familiarity with commonly used software, such as HTML, Photoshop, iMovie
  • Qualification in Communications, Marketing or relevant field


Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience with social media analytics tools
  • Familiarity with web design and publishing
  • Familiarity with Adobe programs (Photoshop or InDesign)
  • Digital marketing
  • Paid marketing campaigns
  • Experience in managing a team
  • A knowledge of the hospitality industry and an interest in food
