Regulatory news service Chemical Watch News & Insight is looking for a senior sub-editor to work with our in-house team of analysts on a fast-paced programme of special research projects and information tools.

Working remotely, the sub-editor will be responsible for editing material produced by the analyst team which includes large bespoke research projects, bi-weekly email alerts, MS Excel-based reference tools and PowerPoint training materials and presentations.

When time allows, the sub-editor will work alongside the Chemical Watch News & Insight production team on news and feature articles produced by our reporters.

The successful candidate will need to be someone who thrives when juggling multiple projects, switches easily between different tasks as priorities change, and manages their workload well when under pressure.

They will also need to be comfortable handling sometimes highly technical copy while taking great pride in ensuring content is clear and accurate.

Demonstrable copy-editing skills honed in a busy professional publishing environment are a must. Experience with content management systems, PowerPoint, MS Excel and basic Photoshop will be an advantage.

Responsibilities include:

  • sub-editing research reports and other documents;
  • sub-editing weekly email alerts, reference tools and training/presentation materials;
  • ensuring quality standards are met and house style adhered to;
  • ensuring agreed deadlines are met; and
  • when time allows, subbing weekly news and features.
