Practical Publishing International, the UK’s leading independent craft magazine publisher, is seeking a technical editor to support our specialist patchwork and quilting publication, Quilt Now.

We are looking for an individual with an in-depth understanding of patchwork and quilting techniques, who can support our in-house editorial team in the production of the magazine.

The successful candidates will play a key role in:

  • Ensuring the technical accuracy of project instructions to be published.
  • Working closely with the in-house editorial team to plan issues of Quilt Now.
  • Working with our in-house product development team on fabulous free gifts to accompany our magazines

The ideal applicant will have several years' experience of quilting and strong familiarity with most common quilting techniques. An eye for detail is vital and prior experience in an editorial role is preferred but not essential.

This is a part-time position and does not need to be based in our Stockport office, so would suit freelancers who wish to work from home. It is a three day per week position but working hours are negotiable.

How to apply

Please forward your CV and a covering letter explaining why you feel you’re ideal for the role to Karen Battrick, HR Manager, at cvs@practicalpublishing.co.uk, with the subject line QN18.
