WFH optional. International travel willingness preferred.

Are you fascinated by how technology shapes the world around you? Do you want to be involved in shaping opinion on what McKinsey calls a "long-term game-changer" for the next decade?

3D Printing Industry is a central London-based print and online news title. With our global reach, we serve the rapidly expanding international additive manufacturing sector.

Additive manufacturing aka industrial 3D printing is now used by enterprises from Space X to Adidas. The technology is saving lives by advancing medicine and opening doors to a sustainable future in the energy sector.

We are looking for a journalist to join our growing team and help report on the technology, enterprises, and individuals leading this exciting sector. You may wish to work in our office, or from home.

Reporting, and pitching, directly to the editor-in-chief, you will be responsible for covering how 3D printing is used across a wide range of sectors including aerospace, automotive, healthcare, and the arts. A technical background is not essential, but curiosity is vital. Now international travel is resumed, your work will take you to many of the enterprises, events, and academic institutions where the leaders in our sector work, so blank pages in your passport are required.

You will have excellent communication skills and be adept at writing for both print and online, skills gained during a minimum of two years of previous experience.

Supported by our in-house experts and with access to our substantial social media channels, you will quickly elevate your profile in our sector. Once you have mastered your new beat there will be opportunities to represent our business through speaking or hosting engagements at events both in the UK and further afield. Longer-term, we will support you in acquiring the skills and know-how necessary to manage a team, and eventually run your own publication.

It is not all work. We offer regular social events, host an annual black-tie dinner, and sponsor some of the best parties in the business.

We require:

  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to conduct research
  • Able to digest information rapidly
  • Confident and enjoys establishing rapport with people
  • Minimum two years' journalist experience

These are advantageous but not essential:

  • Social media savvy
  • Photography, video, or graphic design
  • Understanding of SEO
