Test Editor - for new Local Community Website platform.

We are looking for idle, unfulfilled or retired journalists to test our exciting new platform in a lively village or small town.

Salary: Generate your own.

Employer: EEIO Ltd

The EEIO LOCAL platform is a next generation hyperlocal product. A membership-based website for a village or small town, it can handle news, events, notices, art, chat, votes and more. Local people can browse local content, post in all areas, and message and meet each other online.

Now in beta mode we are looking for a handful of local journalists with some spare time on their hands to help us test. You will have lived in a thriving community of 2,000-10,000 for some years and always wanted to edit a local online publication for the good of the community. You will be joining a number of other test editors with the aim of finding out what works and what doesn’t and helping improve the product in a relaxed manner over the next 12-24 months. The role will be yours for much longer if you so choose.

Estimate 4-8 hours a week.

Income is derived from the website itself, so will be up to you to pursue.

Position not open to anyone currently working or planning to work for another regional news organisation.

We look forward to your application.

EEIO is an early stage startup who have been building a membership-based local website solution for the last 8 years. Our websites are currently regulated by IMPRESS. We are committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from people of all ages, backgrounds and communities.
