Brighton-based Journalism.co.uk, a renowned and respected news site for the online content publishing industry, seeks a trainee media account handler to work on its jobs board.

The role will suit a bright, literate and keen graduate (although non-graduates will be considered). A good knowledge of the industry will be helpful so if you have had some training in journalism that will be a bonus; it's not the pathway to a writing role but it is a way to get a foothold in the media industry and set you on a good career path.

You will need to have a lively, positive and personable manner and be willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction (so this role is not for wallflowers).

Successful candidates who perform well can expect to progress rapidly, with regular salary reviews and a bonus structure.

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Outstanding communication skills - written (grammar, punctuation, spelling) and verbal. (Candidates may be expected to complete a grammar and spelling test if called for interview.)
  • Ability to make basic edits to images as required using Photoshop or similar tools.
  • Organised approach to handling workload.
  • Excellent administration skills.
  • Client-focused.
  • Team player and willingness to help out in other areas where needed.

To apply, please send a detailed covering letter describing why you are a good fit for this role and a CV.
