We are looking for intellectually curious individuals who can research, report and write news, analysis, features and surveys.
Latin Lawyer is the definitive information resource for business law in Latin America. Our team of journalists provide news and analysis of deals and cases, as well as legal and policy developments across the region. Alongside this, we compile surveys, league tables, country profiles, interviews and roundtable discussions that allow us to provide cutting edge analysis of the region’s legal market.
Our readership are experts in their area of legal practice, therefore our journalists are required to provide leading edge insight and analysis to this expert readership.

Other responsibilities include:

  • News gathering, sourcing stories and pitching ideas

  • Producing accurate and timely news content on a daily and regular basis

  • Working collaboratively as part of the Latin Lawyer team to meet regular deadlines

  • Contribute to larger research projects and produce interviews and features under the direction of the Editor

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of a 2:1 from a leading university

  • Post-graduate Law, Latin American Studies, Politics or Journalism qualification

  • Spanish or Portuguese Language skills

  • Excellent organisation skills are essential

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

  • Due to the global reach of our readership, our trainee journalists should posses an international outlook

  • Demonstrable interest in Latin American business and politics

  • An interest in the law and business affairs and a willingness to travel internationally are essential

  • Legal knowledge and writing experience is an advantage
