About the role:
We are currently looking for a Web Editor to work in our established digital team, supporting more than 100 devolved writers in publishing content across NFU websites. This includes our flagship site for farmers and growers, NFUonline.com and Countryside Online, our recently relaunched site for those with a passion for all things rural. You will also be heavily involved in the burgeoning digital element of the NFU’s Back British Farming campaign.
The Web Editor will be based at the NFU’s HQ in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside with the opportunity to cover national farming and agricultural events.
They will be responsible for ensuring website material is up to a high standard and delivers for the evolving needs of the NFU, Contribute ideas, lead on projects and develop NFU sites to service more than 150,000 readers
We are looking for an experienced web content editor / producer who is able to research, write, edit, enhance, promote and advise on web content to support the NFU’s Editorial Team across our websites and printed publications.
You will have demonstrable experience of writing, publishing and editing website stories, articles and other multimedia content along with experience of working with web publishers and of using website CMS
A knowledge of web measurement tools such as google analytics is essential to the role along with knowledge and experience of Adobe Photoshop and HTML.
You will thrive on producing your own content from start to finish, including image manipulation and editing. You will be able to spot content opportunities, track website traffic and remarket online information to our 150,000 strong farming and countryside audience.
You will need to be a self-starter full of ideas to ensure the NFU’s digital content delivers for members as well as a large group of proactive supporters in the general public, bringing the latest techniques and trends to the NFU.
As well as being comfortable with handling multiple projects at the same time, you will be a strong team player who can work with colleagues and members across the NFU. You will need to be able to work with people from a range of backgrounds, with diplomacy and encouragement. You will need to be comfortable with giving presentations and training web publishers.
