Who are we?

At Contextual AI, we are on a mission to create groundbreaking AI products and solutions, and we need you to be a key part of our journey. We are not a typical employer of journalists, but we have an exciting opportunity for you to apply for.

Why this role?

At Contextual, our passion is language. We are on the hunt for someone with unparalleled writing and editing skills who can become a vital part of our team. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who thrives on delivering engaging copy across a variety of writing prompts.

If you are up for the challenge, join us!

Our copywriters and copy editors play a pivotal role in ensuring that our AI model adheres to our style guide, produces impeccably written responses, and captivates the reader. By crafting and enhancing content, you become a key contributor to elevating the overall quality of the model's output. Your efforts directly impact the long-term performance and success of Contextual's product — language models, like humans, learn through feedback so your work is crucial.

As a writer and data labeller, you will:

  • Craft compelling copy of outstanding quality on a wide range of subjects.
  • Assess, refine, and enhance written content, both from fellow writers and our AI models.
  • Skillfully diversify our writing samples by adjusting voice, style, and other distinctive characteristics.
  • Adhere to our style guide and provide insights and suggestions for unique situations that extend beyond its outlined parameters.
  • Execute tasks with meticulous attention to detail, including proper citation of information sources.

You might be a good fit if you are:

  • A dynamic wordsmith — you love connecting with your audience, and you have a knack for distilling complex ideas into easily digestible narratives.
  • Detail-oriented — if you have honed your rewriting, proofreading, and feedback skills in previous roles, and enjoyed working with a style guide, we want your expertise in our creative environment.
  • A fast, thorough reader with stellar comprehension skills.
  • An experienced researcher.
  • Someone who can tackle ambiguity head-on and excel independently in a remote or hybrid work setting.
  • Experienced in data annotation or labeling.
