The Tenacious Journalist Awards, run by The Public Interest News Foundation and supported by Changing Ideas, is offering a £10,000 prize to ten individual journalists or independent news organisations dedicated to reporting that drives positive community change.

Last year’s awards funded nine projects addressing issues such as opioid use, green energy, and miscarriages of justice, with many prompting policy discussions and building coalitions for change. Winners will also get up to eight months of coaching and peer support to help maximise the impact of their work.

Eligible applicants must be UK-based, focused on ethical and impartial public interest news, have no commercial or political affiliations and generate £2m of annual revenue or less.

Applications open next week and close on 31 December 2025, with winners announced early next year. Find out more information and apply now.
