The Press Association (PA) is to join the MINDS International platform for news agencies to exchange online and mobile business ideas.
The PA will follow 16 agencies already signed up to the network, which now covers major markets in Europe and North America. Asian news agencies are also currently being consulted.
The PA will also be part of the MINDS video exchange group and intends to provide up to 15 clips per day to the other MINDS agencies.
"We are all pursuing digital opportunities, and creating innovative products and services, so it makes sense for us to compare notes about what works and what doesn't," said Chris McCormack, head of digital development at the Press Association, in a release.
"It will also provide us with a means of co-ordinating on global opportunities, and allows us to share content that works across regional boundaries," McCormack added.
"We are already working with MINDS on sharing video material, and are excited about new opportunities that will arise from working together in 2009."
