Digital circulation for newspapers and magazines measured by ABC Electronic will become the responsibility of its traditional media account teams - to better reflect the integrated growth of the industry.

The reshuffle means that teams responsible for managing ABC's print-based media members will now take charge of all multi-platform content produced by these groups.

According to the ABC, the restructure reflects a growing need to measure the performance of online properties alongside offline products.

Under the new system, Martyn Gates, director of newspapers, will be responsible across all platforms for national, regional and free distribution newspapers.

His magazine counterpart, Jan Pitt, will look after B2B and consumer magazines in print and cross platform.

Responsibility for specialist new media clients will remain with the bureau's ABCe division with Richard Foan, managing director of ABCe, taking charge of new media content such as online TV and radio.

The bureau will also be centralized, under Henry Wallis as the new director of audit, to give media owners a single point of contact for the service regardless of their platform.

"As media platforms converge and diversify, the need for accountability, regardless of channel, has never been greater, and this restructure will make certain ABC is able to embrace its central role within the industry for the future," said Chris Boyd, ABC's chief executive.
