According to a release from Al Jazeera, the updated website, which offers an English version of the Arabic-language news network, also offers spaces for comment and debate where the previous design was based on a 'read only' format.
"The refresh of the site will offer our visitors from around the world an easy to navigate resource for in-depth news and cutting edge opinion pieces," Mohamed Nanabhay, head of online for Al Jazeera English says in the release.
"Additionally, the refreshed site will provide a platform for smart debate and discussion, in keeping with the Al Jazeera mandate of providing a voice to all angles and opinions. We look forward our continued enhancement of the Al Jazeera English website and to showcasing groundbreaking content from our news and programming departments."
In October last year, Al Jazeera English updated its website to include a new blogging network from its own correspondents across the globe.
