The owners of Telegraph Media Group, Sir David and Frederick Barclay, have been named the richest people in UK publishing in this year's Sunday Times Rich List.

The 77-year-old twin brothers, who also own the Ritz hotel and Littlewoods, remain in number one position in the publishing and advertising league table, with an estimated wealth of £2.25 billion this year, up from £2.2 billion in 2011.

Northern and Shell owner Richard Desmond comes second, with £1 billion, and Daily Mail owner Viscount Rothermere is third with £760 million.

There are also appearances in the publishing top 20 for the Thomson family, magazine publisher Felix Dennis and regional newspaper owner Sir Ray Tindle.
